Me and the Dafrosty had a chance to rock a set at the previous Raising The Bar. The nite was pure #gilababi awesomeness. Shoutout to Shazet and RW for recording and uploading these awesome videos!
And also, catch me rappin in malay somewhere in 5forty2's set.
Here's a preview of a song I'm guest featured in alongside Dafrosty and Ksatriya. The full version will be in Alexander The Phatos's coming album which should drop sometime early 2011. In the meantime, ya'll can check out the Penang-based group at:

New track's up, One Mic, produced/composed by Twenty-II and written by yours truly. It's been out for a while now, around 2 weeks I think, and the response to it has been great and very motivating. Thank you!! Gotta give credits to that dude Dafrosty for pushin this to be a full song coz if it wasn't for him, this would've came out with just one verse. I was really just tryna record for the sake of recording coz I haven't been recording for a while at that time. Brushing up numsayin... What really turned out great (to me laaa) was the effects and beat transitions during the 2nd verse. Twenty-II just went crazy enhancing the beat complimenting my flow/delivery and Dafrosty cranked up the vocal effects tryna match it with the enhanced beat. So yeah, check it out homies!
If you're diggin the vibe, you can also vote for it at the weekly MY Flow chartshere!
WhatsssssssssssssUP? That weedhead DMent just dropped his joint "Coming Through" which features Exothermic, beatboxer Shazet and surprisingly, me. 4 assholes on an awesome beat produced by DMent himself. The gruesome murder was recorded and mixed entirely at the Bat Caves aka Kashfy Studios. There's also a "the making" article written about this song at http://dment-thefirst.blogspot.com. Hit the youtube link below!!
Semua ni record time puasa siot... Albert sorang je tak puasa. Hebat tak? WE'RE COMING THROUGH!!!
What great way to spend a Sunday. My whole family got free lunch coz one of the neighbour's got a wedding goin on. The tents, tables, and food all parked just outside our house. I don't really know my neighbours, so I went out, gave out a few smiles here and there, some handshakin goin on, ate my food, grabbed one of them fancy flower eggs, and then bounced back inside.
And then, spent the whole evening watching the Kanye West live concert I posted above. Which is really really dope. The whole 70 minutes was a fuckin joyride numsayin. With John Legend assisting Mr. West performing songs from his College Dropout album, man that's just awesome. And Kanye didn't even need a real hypeman except for the crew shoutin here and there. He went in and skooled Amsterdam through the whole show. Okayh, ya'll get the deal now rite.
No internship shiet to tell so far. Just the same ol same ol.
Check it out, I just released another joint dribbling words over a classic De La Soul hit, All Good. This time teaming up with comrades DMent and Dafrosty to get that variety of flavour blend. I even did a lil bit of singing here and there, just figured I'd do some try-try. You can stream or download it below. Have fun bopping ya head to this. Spread the word if you're feeeeeelin this aite.
Written by Saphuan, DMent & Dafrosty Mixed by Dafrosty Original track by De La Soul
(Intro)
(Chorus) It ain't all good, that's the truth Things ain't goin like the way they should, it's all on you
(Saphuan) Hush, now it's time to break the silence Watch us, The Watchers, ultimate alliance Droppin science, for students to analyze Penalize rappers who failed on their second try I am on a mission to live life to the max Earn stacks, pay tax, as I write tracks Your recent attacks are nothing like bounce checks In fact, you're not worth it keep in check Coz you tryin too hard to sound poetic on wax And in the end you'll sound pathetic instead Check DYS, call that shit the dopeness You're hopeless while I'm dangerous Check nobody wants people to label 'em wack Lay back, have a chill pill, light a cigerette And put this laid back joint on playback And that's that, go head and top that
(Chorus)
(DMent) Let's blaze it, when I flow it's amazin Just face it, when I run on tracks you can't trace it Your style is basic, like nursery rhyme If you're a veteran then I'm from the pre-historic time I take time when I rhyme yet I'm givin you gold You take too much time and it's leavin you old And I'm chillin, cold, I don't know why you're so hot Maybe it's because I reply to your dope stuff with a "so not" You go nuts, when I say your style's a pussy Even when you got it tight you still won't be able to do me You're a looney, but you entertain nobody You're outta tune when I'm just "ladidadi" Here's a somebody, who'll murder some Body laced with morphine, and I don't go numb I'm gon' come hard, every after blowjobs You're the Hip-Hop heads so please don't stop
(Bridge) I'm feelin good tonite You're feelin good tonite We're feelin good tonite This here just sounds so right Right (right) 6x Feelin good tonite
(Dafrosty) Time flies like Molotov before it drops and blows Your ears away with displays of an elevated flow Everybody grows old replacing childhood stolen A golden age when we used to have much more to say Or so we thought, coz how different are things today As we redefine the word old school every decade Memories decay but good times are eternalized In frames encased in skills of an art that'll survive the fads But what is partly an ad for money and violence Turned some into addicts of poetry's finest It's timeless how a rhythm could just hit the spot And you feel the urge to spit, now that's Hip-Hop And it dont stop, but on the real, definitions are vague And who's the right person to judge this wicked game It's all about the marketing, no longer bout the music Good or bad Hip-Hop, it's for the listeners to choose from
(Chorus)
(Saphuan) Okay she got a body like Rosa Acosta You'd pay a mill just to get her poster And twice the price to unhook her bra Yeah she looks candy sweet like Mars bar She wraps her body in things that make her sweet And the sound of her heels alone could make a beat Can't get enough, so you Google and Ares her Browsin every photo and story about her But she got a ego, bigger than any rapper Evo or Neo, you still couldn't date her Mission accomplished, congratulations All eyes on you, you're now centre of attention Frequently mentioned, gossip sensation Everybody knows you and admits your presence Every guy remembers how your curves look like And now you wonder why they ain't lookin at your eyes
(Chorus)
(Outro)
I got home at 6am because of this track. Slept a bit and woke up 10am the next day coz a neighbour was having a doa selamat kenduri. Perghhhh...
Been playin a whole-lotta Method Man tracks these couple of days. Must be sumthin to do with the weather I guess. Dug out the The Day After album from the depths of my harddrive and buoi like damn, shit's still fresh. I've always thought he's the most consistent and outstanding among his Wu-Tang brethrens.
"And when they reminiscenced over Wu, my God"
One helluva style how he recited that line...
Method Man & Redman Feat. Saukrates - "A-Yo" (Produced By Pete Rock)
Now this is what I call fresh. Hearing this song was one helluva thrill ride. The instrumentation and all on the track here was very beautifully done. And plus the additional synths just sounded so right and on point. Definitely my kind of joint. Shoutout to my man Adi for producing this sick track. Check out Alexander The Phatos's other projects and products right here. It's one local hip hop group to look out for, furreal...
And this right here is how I celebrate NYE... in a somewhat very soulful kinda way. Guess I'm in that vibe tonite. Which I'm sure will eventually help ease me into a very deep peaceful sleep...
Lai! Lai! Lagu baru beb!!! This time around I got my homie DMent from the horror group Triniti to spit a couple of tyson jab lines with me. The beat was also one of my earliest efforts on producing beats. Waktang on the guitars but I don't think he remembers he did it. Hmm... Nuff said, hit play at the video right after the picture or go here or go to http://www.myspace.com/saphuantific! Representin The Watchers & DYS!!! Hip Hop coming through!!!
Saphuan - Clap To This (ft. DMent) Produced by Saphuan Written by Saphuan & DMent Live guitars by Maerzad "Waktang" Nazmi Recorded at The Singing Shop Studio by Vandal Mixed by Vandal & DMent
(Saphuan) I spit rap backflips coz I'm verbally athletic physically too so it's no problem when I spit it dancin' like a butterfly, stingin' like a bee? Just wait till my raps spray you bugs like psssssst!! (Lets go) It's me against the world like Pac (I wonder) how the fuck I got the world to bop (to what?) the funky samples and my fancy flows (oh no!!) you know I know you were gonna go oh no Let's see what more do I have under my sleeves Just a bunch of tight rhymes to get you down on your knees (I rhyme) 24-7 like 7-E and McD's Dope malaysian flows, where else can you get these? Certainly not from you and I'm sure of that The best I expect from you is a wack track The best from me? You aint heard that yet I'm saving that for last for now enjoy this track
Chorus If you got 99 problems putcha hands high putcha hands high and just (clap to this) If hip hop is alive putcha hands high putcha hands high and just (clap to this) If you feelin what I'm feelin now putcha hands high putcha hands high and just (clap to this) Phin is in the buildin' rockin' the mic Whatcha gonna do? (clap to this)
(Saphuan) The name is Saphuan and I does what I does Let me ease your mind by recitin' a verse I'm still chillin under KL city nite lights Never stopped writin' knowin' one day Imma shine bright The light be hittin' your eyes blindin' your sight And for nonbeleivers, get outta my sight Like Mr. West I wanna touch the sky I wanna be among the stars way up high Why? Well don't you wanna be the best in what you do? Well two if not one on the ones and twos pocket is empty but still I maintain my cool No ice on the wrist, no million dollar coupe Fuck your 2 cents, on the mic I'm arrogant I'm eloquent, against me, you dont stand a chance Cause you're (you're) so pathetic Man I swear to god, I'm sick
Chorus
(Dment) While you're clappin to this, I'm gettin a round of applause Rewind if you're not gettin this, you know I leave emcees in pause I be the only cause of why Hip Hop is still alive Stop passin me the mic, I speak using a fuckin knife I'm kickin it live, while I'm leavin y'all lifeless I remain sick even when around the finest I don't wear ices but see I'm cold You the hottest emcee? Uh huh yeah I know With fire all over your body, yo I can tell The scene is not a place for you, so go to hell I flow so well, and I'm leaving y'all drowning Your beef doesn't make any sense, so it's you that I'm pounding Say what you want, but don't fuck with the best You better pray and run when you put me to the test Fuck a freestyle, my style is exclusive Expensive and rare but I'm keepin it lucid
Check out this joint right here. The lyrics are personal and real witty plus the beat is smooth and damn catchy. The dude's songs are on constant rotation in my media player.
And I read that the one singing the hook happens to be his dad. Cooool. Hip hop is in the buildin!!
Here's a spoken word track I just recorded and roughly mixed. It's quite different from the usual bumpy tracks I do. No beats, just guilty ol me experimenting...
Saphuan - I'm Sorry
As I'm starin at the ceiling, I begin to wonder, Why I keep inside so many secrets from whoever, Who ever misunderstood the way that I stand, the way that I talk and try to make you understand, Paranoia in my brain, I can't speak up, Insist and you'll see how things get messed up, So Imma shut the fuck up, If I feel abused and everytime things are'nt going like they should, Fuck you! is all I'd say to the man in the mirror, Coz his stupidity is now proven, its pretty clear, Nah, MY stupidity is proven, it gets clearer, and clearer and clearer and clearer, My words are cursed and my voice is damned, Good intention means nuthin from where I am, Please pardon my swears, I've never meant to hurt you, I've never meant to bring disaster between me and you, If I knew how things would've turned out, I'd sew my lips together to close my mouth, Cut off my tongue so I'd never say a word, I guess I shud've done that from the minute of birth...
Apart from hip hop, I've always loved to see the skate culture, especially them skateboards and rollerblades. The fast cruisin and slick flippin over shit is just awesome. Don't even front. I usta play Tony Hawk on playstation all day long. Grindin here and there. I don't mean to brag laa but I think I played that game pretty good. I once had this dream, chillin on the skateboard feelin the breeze and kickflippin over anything I can. Just niceeee... So it's kinda like a no brainer why I got hooked straight away to Lupe Fiasco when he 1st dropped his "Kick Push" joint. But that's all la, never really got the chance to meet some real skater folks or learn some smooth ass-whopin deck tricks.
By the way, check out this video. Ice Cube is gangstaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
Video: Paul Rodriguez x Nike SB - “Today Was A Good Day” (Extended Version)
It was damn hard having denggi around this time but I still went on to rock on stage. Greedy for the mic I guess. I think I could've done better without the fever tho. Hmmmm. Anyways, check out the show!!!
Thanks to Dafrosty for the video and much love to those who made it to the show!!! Congrats to Schizzow on his release! THE SCHIZZOWPHRENIC!!! Get it from dude aite coz the CD's dope!!!
And break's about over now. I'll be back on camp on Sunday I guess...
